About BreastPumpingTips

A short, honest explanation of what this site does and does not cover.

What this site is

BreastPumpingTips compares breast pump categories (manual, standard electric, wearable), product-fit factors (flange sizing, closed vs. open system), the accessories most kits don't fully include, and the insurance/DME-supplier coverage process. It is written and maintained as a product-comparison and buying-logistics guide, the kind of content a good retailer's own buying guide would cover. Research is compiled from publicly available sources with dates attached (see the research notes for each page), not from hands-on product testing, and we say so explicitly rather than implying otherwise. For example, a covered pump can cost $0 out of pocket under the ACA's preventive-care mandate, federal workplace-pumping rights under the PUMP Act generally extend up to 365 days after birth, and wear parts like pump valves are commonly replaced every 30 to 90 days, the kind of concrete, sourced detail we aim for on every page.

What this site deliberately is NOT

This is not medical advice. Nothing on this site makes a claim about milk supply, health outcomes, or the safety or effectiveness of any pumping practice. Where a topic brushes against health (pump cleaning, milk storage duration), the site frames it as commonly published logistics reference and explicitly tells you to verify against your pump/bag's own instructions and your pediatrician or a lactation consultant, never as this site's own medical claim. If a page ever reads otherwise, that's a bug we want to fix, not the intent.

How we make money

BreastPumpingTips is a participant in the Amazon Associates program, live from this site's first build (2026-07-22). Pages with a genuine product-recommendation moment link to Amazon product searches (never a specific asserted product or price), and we earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Those links carry a visible "#ad" disclosure wherever they appear, and each one is markedrel="sponsored nofollow". As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

What we don't cover yet

We don't have a state-by-state matrix of exact Medicaid/insurer implementation details, or live per-plan coverage lookup. Insurance specifics genuinely vary by plan and by state. Confirm your own coverage directly with your insurer or a DME supplier rather than relying on this site's general description.
